Dr Yap has been able to address this area both physically and psychologically. This is due to the fact, that whilst removing the breast cancer she is able to recreate the breast either by performing a reduction mammoplasty and lift after a lumpectomy, or a complete reconstruction with sparing of the nipple- areolar complex following a full mastectomy. Dr Yap’s patients have described an improved body image with associated positive mental response following surgery. On this subject, a quote from one of her patients following her oncoplastic surgery – “breast cancer is the best thing that has happened to me. The relationship between my husband and I is the best it in the last 15 years and I’m currently cancer free!.”
